The international spectacles authority Mo Jalie joins BMF Material

Recently, Professor Mo Jalie, recognized as an international authority on spectacle lenses, joins BMF Material as a Senior Scientist.

 

 

Prof. Mo Jalie is recognized as an international authority on the design of spectacle lenses and has written several books including Principles of Ophthalmic Lenses, which is recognized globally as a standard text on the subject. He is now working at City & Islington College, where he teaches optics, ophthalmic lenses and dispensing, and was the Head of Department of Applied Optics at City & Islington College from 1986 to 1995. In the meantime, he has been invited by Essilor, the world’s biggest lenses company, as a regular lecturer at the Essilor Academy, whereas he has also been Visiting Professor to Hoya Optics and the Chairman of Board of Advisors of Essilor International Research Center. He is the author of some 200 papers on ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, intra-ocular lenses and dispensing. He holds patents for aspheric spectacle lenses and intra-ocular lenses.

 

Prof. Mo Jalie is committed to research on combining micro/nano-scale 3D printing technology and traditional optical lenses processing, and BMF’s technology of customized micro/nano-scale 3D printed lenses is exactly what he has been looking for. Doubtless to say, Prof. Mo Jalie will provide BMF with technological support in the development and application of micro/nano-scale 3D printing of optical lenses.
